When we got there, a...how shall I say this...a unique fella came up and told us all the tricks they were using that day, but that the fish just weren't biting. My dad just kind of smiled, nodded and went about his work setting 5 kids up to fish, and did he ever have his work cut out for him! Five minutes wouldn't pass and someone would have tangled a line, broken a lure, or just needed help in some way.
Funny thing is, we hadn't been there 5 minutes and the kids started catching!! I see the guy in the background kind of raise an eyebrow. ;)

Once all the big kids were fishing away, Grandpa sat down and started teaching Owen all about fishing. This was Owen's first experience fishing!

Here Grandpa is having him set the pole and wait for the nibble.

Again, it wasn't 10 minutes and Owen had a bite, so Grandpa helped him set the hook and reel it in!

There it is! See it in the water?

Mariah had just caught one too, so we posed for the photo op.
Oops!! Grandpa dropped Owen's fish! Slippery little buggar!

**photography tip of the day...position subjects facing right into the sun, so squinting and eye covering occurs. (sheesh!)

"Please don't eat me!"

(but we did. sorry lil' fishy)
