Six sounds SO much older than 5.
Having a birthday that usually coincides with the first day of school hasn't really worked out well for him in the celebration department. The hubub of back to school usually steals center stage.
Usually.
This year, our district moved our first day of school back by a week. I'm SO thankful for this, as it enabled us to really be able to focus on Owen's birthday. For the first time. Ever.
So, in the spirit of making it up to him, we went all out this year. My next several posts will be dedicated to the birthday boy himself. :)
Here he is on his actual birthday. Brownies at home (we're not big cake people), presents, and a visit from Nana. It was a good day. :)

Waiting on his big surprise...

The first thing out of his mouth was, "We're going to have to take those training wheels off!" (of course)

How many family members does it take to light 6 candles??

Happy birthday, baby boy!!
