SHE MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

She made the middle school basketball team!
You may have noticed a certain member of our trio missing in yesterday's pictures. See, we had gone to the school so that G could play basketball with M, and give her some pointers because she was trying out for the middle school basketball team. (The younger two played on the playground, and I went back and forth taking pics)

Competition was fierce ~ 32 girls went out, and 20 were offered a position on the team. M's basketball experience is limited. All those years we invested in soccer, other girls were investing in basketball. She played Upward basketball for 8 weeks last winter. Other than that, her only basketball experience was on the driveway with the neighbor kids.

...BUT, she made it!!!




She just came off a great season running Cross Country for her school. She was the top female runner for both 7th and 8th grades. She got medals in all but one of the meets, and was always the first girl from her school to cross the finish line.

Even if she hadn't made it...we couldn't be more proud. None of her friends went out, and it took a lot of guts to go for it. Tryouts were at 6:15 in the morning, and practices will be at the same time. It's a lot of work and sacrifice, and we're so happy she's willing to do it.
